How to Ride Around the World with Your Clients — All Expenses Paid

Apr 01, 2025

Travel, Business

If you’re an equestrian professional, instructor or just someone with a solid riding network, we have a question for you: What if you could travel the world and ride amazing horses at no cost to you – just for bringing your clients, students or followers along for the adventure?

Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, thanks to Cavago’s Lead Rider Programme, it’s not just possible – it’s easy.

Here’s everything you need to know about how the programme works and why it’s a game-changer for equestrian pros.

What Is the Lead Rider Programme?

Think of it like this: You bring a group of riders on an unforgettable trip and in return you get a free place, a daily stipend and commission on each additional rider. Cavago takes care of all the admin (yes, really), so you just focus on leading an amazing experience.

Whether it’s galloping across the beaches of Portugal, exploring ancient trails in Spain or trekking through desert in Morocco, the Lead Rider Programme gives you the chance to travel, earn a little on the side and share your passion for horses – all with zero logistical headaches.

So, How Do I Make Money?

If you’re thinking, “That sounds great, but won't I be losing income by jetting off for a week?” Here’s the breakdown:

  • You Travel for FREE – When you organise a group trip (minimum of four riders), your own place on the trip is fully covered.
  • Daily Stipend – In addition, get paid per day by Cavago while leading the trip.
  • Commission per Rider – For every rider beyond the first three, you'll earn extra commission on top.
  • No Admin, No Stress – Cavago handles bookings, payments and logistics – you just show up with your group and ride.

It’s a new offering for your business, without adding to your already busy schedule. If you already have a following of students or clients who love to ride, why not turn that into a paid, all-expenses-covered travel opportunity?

Can I really do this?

The Lead Rider Programme is perfect for:

  • Riding Instructors & Trainers – Offer your students an unforgettable experience beyond the arena.
  • Equestrian Influencers & Community Leaders – Monetise your audience by curating unique group trips.
  • Passionate Riders with a Network – If you have three friends who want to travel with you, you can unlock exclusive discounts.

But what does being a 'Lead Rider' Really mean?

By acting as a Lead Rider, you'll be responsible for:

  • Curating a group of riders
  • Ensuring everyone's flights are booked
  • Looking out for everyone's well-being on the trip
  • Acting as the designated driver (if needed)

You aren't responsible for:

  • Planning the itinerary (Cavago will do all of that)
  • Acting as a tour guide (our hosts will show you everything, don't worry!)
